Join the Women’s Global Network for Reproductive Rights (WGNRR) and partners for a Fireside Chat with Maria Tanyag, the author of “The Global Politics of Sexual and Reproductive Health.” Her work “seeks to address the puzzle of why inequalities and barriers to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) continue to exist within a wider political context where the importance of gender equality has never been more accepted, and women are represented as central to major global agendas. The unique contribution of this book is to show that restrictions to sexual and reproductive health can be traced back to macro-level processes such as how states and the international community allocate resources during crises and in peacetime.”
The event will feature a presentation by Maria, offering key themes and insights from her book. Following her presentation, SRHR advocates will share their reactions and discuss how the book’s themes resonate with their own experiences and contexts.
As we continue campaigning this May 28 – International Day of Action for Women’s Health, hear from Maria about the key findings of her book and listen to reactions from SRHR advocates from the Philippines, India and Tanzania and many more about the critical threats to our health and rights and the opportunities to ensure the centrality of SRHR and bodily autonomy in major global agendas.
